About Us
When you are moving to Rolling Hills, that is what you can expect.
Rolling Hills, California, is an affluent city located in Los Angeles County. It is one of the wealthiest and richest communities in the United States and has a population of around 1,860 people. The city was incorporated in 1957 and is known for its large estates and equestrian lifestyle. The area was originally inhabited by the Tongva Native American tribe, who called it “Achois Comungna.” In 1784, Spanish settlers arrived and named the area “Rancho de Los Palos Verdes,” which translates to “Ranch of the Green Trees.” The ranch was later divided into five separate ranches, including Rancho de los Palos Verdes. In 1846, California became part of the United States, and Rancho de los Palos Verdes was sold to John W. Bixby. He later sold it to George H. Peck in 1882, who then sold it to Frederick Hastings Rindge in 1903. Rindge developed the land into a cattle ranch and named it Rolling Hills Ranch after its rolling hills and grassy meadows. In 1957, Rolling Hills was founded as a city with a population of just over 1,000 people. The city has since grown to its current population of 1,860 people as of 2020. Rolling Hills is known for its large estates and equestrian lifestyle. It is home to many celebrities, such as Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Aniston, and Tom Cruise, who have all owned homes in Rolling Hills at one point or another.
The city also boasts some of the best schools in Los Angeles County, with excellent test scores across all grade levels. The city is also home to many parks, such as Ernie Howlett Park, which features a lake for kayaking, boating and fishing, as well as hiking trails that offer beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. Rolling Hills also offers plenty of shopping opportunities with stores such as Ralphs Grocery Store and Trader Joe’s located within its borders.
